DeleteAs one half of Celtic writing duo Mirren Jones with a contemporary novel out set in Scotland (Eight of Cups), I love all things Scottish. I have a fascination for the 16th and 17th Centuries but couldn't possibly write about them! Hence I would really like to read this inviting-looking book, genre Scottish Historical fiction - and in old-fashioned paper format please, since I have not yet entered the world of Kindles! Thank you. Elaine

This is a book that I really want to read. As my own books are set in Ayrshire (but in a later period) I feel a connection already there, but what most beguiles me is Munro's multiple conflicts of loyalty, which to me sounds as a very realistic portrayal of what very many men must have experienced in those days when clan, duty and honour were words one did not take lightly.
