Edgar was the great survivor of the time and I'm sure you're right that this involved craft as well as luck.

I'm writing more novels in the series, including his involvement in Scottish events, his place in the civil wars between the Conqueror's sons and his adventures in the east at the time of the First Crusade. It's keeping me busy. You are so right to remind people that 1066 was not the end - not by a long shot - of resistance against William. Edgar had more than mere luck - he had craft as well. He would be glad to have you tell his story, I am sure.

wes thu hal
OctaviaOctavia Randolphhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09280624466763859908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2456802468539868519.post-56945677329037914992013-05-21T08:25:15.309-07:002013-05-21T08:25:15.309-07:00Many years ago I read Charles Kingsley's book ...Many years ago I read Charles Kingsley's book 'Hereward' which mentioned Edgar in passing. Certainly towards the end of his life several rulers including the Byzantine Emperor wished him to remain at their courts.
