They were not Germanic, and except for the Belgics they did not integrate with Germanics.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13385291385718417335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2456802468539868519.post-72017497174595892532016-07-01T13:32:56.512-07:002016-07-01T13:32:56.512-07:00Thanks Nancy - I wanted to be sure that my informa...Thanks Nancy - I wanted to be sure that my information was as up to date as possible and consulted an archaeologist who said it was all in such a state of flux! Each new thing to turn up out of the ground extends or confounds current thinking! I need to check out your Celtic Fervour Series - sounds interesting :)Annie Whiteheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11028691371545306450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2456802468539868519.post-69740850283839884252016-07-01T12:51:28.840-07:002016-07-01T12:51:28.840-07:00I agree, Annie, that the study of Roman Britain (i...I agree, Annie, that the study of Roman Britain (in particular northern Britannia) can be confusing. I've had some fun and some 'other exasperating' moments trying to equate the historical record of late Iron Age Britain/ Scotland and the most recent archaeological record in my historical writing. I changed parts of Books 2 & 3 of my Celtic Fervour series during the writing phase (to suit me as the author) because what came down to us from Tacitus didn't match recent archaeological time-line finds in northern Britannia. Like you, I find that Celtic/ Roman Britain is a fascinating period of history.
