More was more faithful to his convictions, steadfast to the end. To his shame, Cranmer recanted several times but ultimately returned to his faith and died bravely. My post was a discussion of the things that struck me as similarities between these two very different men while living. I did not mean to imply that either lived out his lifetime unscathed.Lauren Gilberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02938146663557663891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2456802468539868519.post-12962830988412750452020-05-30T19:04:47.211-07:002020-05-30T19:04:47.211-07:00Thank you for the insight and information. More refused to swear an oath to the King as the Supreme Head of the church which undermined everything Henry VIII was in the process of instituting and despite multiple attempts from Henry and also attempts, I believe, by Cranmer, More held strong to the supremacy of the Pope and was beheaded for his convictions. (I'm actually writing an essay on these very two men).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2456802468539868519.post-33722133291311056652013-10-26T01:37:04.471-07:002013-10-26T01:37:04.471-07:00Thanks for this.
